The Hunt

Our Friend had somehow gotten a bee into his bonnet that he MUST have that most delicious coconut jelly, made from the juice of a young coconut with strips of coconut flesh embedded therein, all contained in the original coconut shell.

And so, we began our hunt. (Mercifully, I had been spared earlier failed attempts to score this piece of delicious dessert...)

Our evening started with a score - a second-hand standing lamp which will sit nicely in our living room. From there, it was a trek over to Hougang Central, getting lost on our way to the "Aunty Lucy", where covert information had reached us that our object of desire had been spotted there previously. Alas, it was a false alarm and we left dejected.

Next, another long trek to Mustafa's Centre - shopping haven, open 24 hours' a day, every day. Naturally, the whole place, including the streets surrounding it, was teeming with people looking for some action on a Friday night. Many was the opportunity to run down some pedestrian or other who kept walking in front of the car. Much restraint was required to not avail ourselves of that opportunity. Failing to find the elusive entrance to the free carpark, we had to settle for the hotel next door. Then we had to scour every single inch (and I mean EVERY SINGLE INCH) of the many miles of aisles, before finally finding the object of our (Friend's) desire.

Tadah!! We've finally found it!! So naturally, we bought SIX of these little gems to make our effort worth it...

We could barely get the groceries out of the bag once we had reached home, before ripping into one of these delicious jellies, to appease the longing in our bellies. Hmm...it was well worth the hunt!
