Walk-walk

Without my regular jalan-jalan partner this weekend, we decided to do the walk over from The Cave over to New Home, testing distance and time required.

Off we go! Warmed up by hiking up and down the overhead bridge, crossing over to "the other side" of BR Road... This is the view from the overhead bridge at The Cave side.

Through the Siglap Park Connector, which I had first used, ferrying Mr. Yellow Bicycle from Old Home to New Home (a.k.a. The Cave). Or rather, Mr. Yellow Bicycle ferried me over...hehe. An undulating path through the HDB blocks, shaded by trees and dotted with various exercise parks and a "youthscape" type of location, it provided endless distractions along the way.

Finally, after 17 minutes' brisk walk, the end is in sight! Once again, we had to traverse an overhead bridge across the Expressway to reach the New Home. Here's the new view we'll have in time! Not that much different from the other view off the overhead bridge, actually! Cars still travelling at "bat our of hell" speed...

We walked the neighbourhood, looking for Sebastian the Ginger Cat (an acquaintance from an earlier visit), and met Franceska, the friendly feline. It looks like we're going to need a whole new pipeline of new names for all the new friends we'll be making in this neighbourhood...good times ahead!
